Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba recognized but one authority and but one truth, that of his Lord. He adhered strictly to this authority and truth. His reference in thought and in act was the Prophet Sayidinna Mohammad (PBUH) and the model was based on service rendered to the whole of humanity. This is in accordance with the Lord's saying that Mohammad (PBUH) has been sent as Mercy for the whole of Humanity.
Hazrat Abul Makhariq(RA) say the Prophet(SAW) said;"that on the Night of Ascent of Heaven, he saw a person, covered all over with a light. He asked if he was a angel. He was told that he was not that. He then asked if he was a Prophet and the reply was again in the negative. He again asked emphatically...as to who he was, and he was told that he was a devotee, who always remembered Allah (God). His heart was always in the mosque and he never talked ill of his parents." (Ibn Abi Dunya)

Sayings Of Shaykh Ahmadou Bamba.2. Believers! Do not neglect helping the needy. Do not get tired of caring for others in the name of Allah. Avoid hurting emotionally and physically others creatures. And he, who comes to visit you, you should be very hospitable to him. Give him attention, feed him if you can, make his stay very pleasant. It is indeed Allah the Most High who has given you wealth; He surely will give you more!
3. You cannot be successful in this life without Hard Work, and you can not hope for salvation in the Afterlife without Hard and Sincere worship to Allah.
4. Be calm at all times. Align yourself towards Allah. Be ready for prayer as soon as the moment arrives. Do not trust the head and what surrounds it, nor the belly and what it contains. Always ask for blessings, as well as send greetings upon our Prophet.
5. Anger, bitterness, surly mood, intolerance and rage are the characteristics of Satan the accursed, May Allah chase him away him all the time. The remedy for these bad characters is to bear in mind that the action is actually accomplished only by the Will of Allah The Most High
6. The Heart is like the image of the king among the members of the body; anywhere it goes goes, the other members follows under its influence. So, you should want to improve the whole body and all of its members for the FACE of the ONE that subjugated His enemies. Purify your Heart of dull spots until it is in Intimacy with ALLAH.
7. Allah Give us help instead of harm; the good instead of evil! Bestow upon us knowledge instead of ignorance, generosity in lieu of avarice." Bless us with wealth instead of poverty, and recognition in contrast to ingratitude! Give us noble characters, and incite our youth to respect the elders and the elders to always bring great relief to the youth.
8. Use patience as a mean to overcome the obstacles of this life. Use the nobility of character as adornment; This means, you must have good intentions, good words and good deeds.
9. Always Master your instincts and never cease to seek the Blessings of Allah! Bear in mind that there will be No salary to one who has not worked! No Pain No Gain!
10. Death is our final stop, no matter how long we long live!, "Fulfill all you want, but bear in mind that you will be rewarded according to your deeds!
11. Know that the love of this world lowers the man in the eyes of Allah. Its abandonment is an act of devotion that brings the slave closer to his Master, Allah.
12. As for the bearers of the Allah's Throne, their number is the numerical value of the letter "Ha" or 8. May you be saved! These angels are : 'Dadwa yâ' Elu, Dadfa yâ Eîlu, Çaffa yâ' Elu, katmayâ Elu, Kamka yâ' Elu, Samka yâ' Elu, Sasma yâ Eîlu and Zanja yâ' Elu. Anyone who remembers their names, will never die without seeing his home in Paradise "(Shaykh Ahmad Bamba).
